Mystics : Thomas a Kempis

Thomas a Kempis (or Thomas von Kempen, 1379/1380-1471) studied at the school at Deventer where Gerard Groote once had taught. Thomas a Kempis later would write the biographies of GERARD GROOTE and of his successor, Floris Radewyns. Thomas a Kempis joined the Brethren of the Common Life. He wrote, together with others, the IMITATIO CHRISTI, which, because of Thomas' signature, is attributed to him.
