Palestinian National Authority Jordan
First posted on March 28th 2007

Until 1917 part of Ottoman Syria, until 1948 part of the British Mandate of Palestine, the partition plan of 1947 foresaw the West Bank to form part of the Arab State of Palestine (to be created). In the course of the First Arab-Israeli War 1948, the West Bank was occupied and, until 1967, administrated by Jordan. Then the area came under Israeli occupation.
