From 1918 to 2006, Montenegro formed part of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (1918-1929), the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1929-1941), the Yugoslav Federal Republic (1944-1992) respectively of the remnant of Yugoslavia, in 2003 renamed Federation of Serbia and Montenegro.
