In 1920, Oubangi-Chari was again separated from Chad, but as Chad subordinated to the Governor General of French Equatorial Africa at Brazzaville. The seat of administration of Oubangi-Chari (in English spelled Ubangi-Shari) was located at BANGUI; here the deputy governor resided.
In 1928 and 1935 revolts against the French broke out and were suppressed.
