The Kingdom of Da'amat, 5th - 1st Century B.C.

In Northwestern Ethiopia, centered around the capital city of YEHA, the Kingdom od DA'AMAT (Daamatt) thrived from the 5th to the 1st century B.C.
In Da'amat, a script similar to the Himyaritic script of Southern Arabia was used. The population of Da'amat was polytheistic. Da'amat was connected by trade with the Arabian peninsula. The kingdom declined when other trading towns emerged, causing much of Da'amat's trade to bypass the kingdom.
