Madeira 1918-1939



In 1926, Portugal was turned into a corporate state similar to that of Italy. The strongman was ANTONIO SALAZAR.
Until 1931, stamps of the Acores were in use on Madeira; in 1928-29 a series of stamps was issued especially for Madeira. From 1931, Portuguese stamps were used.
