The delimitation of these regions is debatable; for instance Tibet may be regarded belonging to Central, East and or South Asia. Students writing on such regions are expected to spend thought on the definition of the examined region.

Every paper 1-25 should deal with at least five regions and should discuss the subdivision of the time period given into shorter subperiods.
Diplomacy History : cover all periods, establish periodization

Every topic only once; first email gets the topic.

By October 1st : Outline, with working table of contents, working list of references. 20 % of total assignment score.
By November 1st : First draft. If okay 80 % of total assignment score; if second draft necessary 30 % of total assignment score.
By December 1st : Second draftl 50 % of total assignment score.
penalty for procrastination : 1 full percentage point of total assignment score.
FYI : grade - assignment 65 %, quizzes 25 %, class participation 10 %.
